Summer 2006

Colombia

On June 29th, 2006, we headed off on our long awaited return to Colombia. Mercedes and Camila hadn't seen their family in the three years since they immigrated to Canada. We stayed with Mercedes' parents in Armenia and went on many day trips to the towns of Salento, Circasia, Calaraca; to the Coffee Park, the Botanical Gardens and Butterfly exhibit, the National Institute for Bamboo research, and the Cocora valley; to the farms of two friends of ours; and also to the Pacific coast to visit Mercedes' sister's family. The photos that follow are not chronological nor organized by location, but by common themes as I shot photos of simalar things in many places and often returned to the same place several times.
